As a parent of special needs children you're going to be faced with a lot of tough decisions to make in regards to the upbringing of your children in your King West condos. You want the best for your kids so you will scrutinize every decision you make that will have an impact on them. We know how difficult it must be taking care of children with special needs so our sympathies go out to you.
We also know that the longer you put off a decision the harder it will be once the deadline to give an answer comes. So it's in your best interests to decide upon certain matters as soon as possible. One such decision to make is regarding schooling. Most special needs children tend to be schooled in their Rosedale homes for most of their youth. Parents feel more comfortable having teachers brought to the house rather than letting their children be taught in mainstream schools.
There's nothing wrong with that but at some point you're going to have to make a decision on mainstream schooling. You can continue to bring in specialized instructors and tutors to give your special needs children one-on-one teaching in your Kingsway home but your children might be missing out on other important things. Such as social interaction with children their own age and being part of group activities.
Not every child with special needs can handle mainstream schooling but a lot of them can. It's up to you to decide whether or not your son or daughter is one of those children. You can consult with doctors, specialists and school employees to see if mainstream schooling is for you. Many schools are prepared for students with special needs to attend their institution so if you are worried about whether or not they can handle your child just ask them what they do to integrate special needs children.
Having your special needs child taught in your Verve condo has advantages and disadvantages as does letting them attend a mainstream school. In the end you have to weigh those advantages and disadvantages to see which one is the most helpful to your son or daughter. You might just find that homeschooling your son or daughter in your condos Toronto unit is holding them back and mainstreaming them is the way to go. You'll never know unless you weigh all your options.
